Dorchester Meeting House is a converted Public House which was known as The Union Arms. It lies midway along Holloway Road, has a car park adjacent and there are parking places in adjacent streets.
The Meeting House is used extensively during the week by many and varied groups but on Sundays it is well used by the active group of Quakers who worship here from 10.30 a.m. There is also a short Meeting for Worship on first and third Wednesdays from 12.30 p.m. followed by a shared lunch. This is where those wishing to participate bring something for the table. On 4th Sundays there is a Breakfast Meeting ie a Meeting for Worship followed by Breakfast.
Holloway Road is a street lower than Fordington High Street ( where the parish church is to be found). Coming from Kings Road follow the finger post signed into Mill Street and immediately take a left over the millstream bridge into Holloway Road, followed by a right and up to the brow of the hill where you will see the MH and carpark. If you are able to walk up the hill please make use of a parking site in the lower part of Holloway Road if available.
Dorchester Quakers are active within Churches Together in Dorchester where they helped to create the Peace Room in Poundbury. The Meeting House and Garden have recently had a make over including solar panelled heating and electricity and a fresh herbal garden quiet place.
